Summary
Provides direct basic nursing care to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse according to Robison Jewish Health Center policies and procedures, including services listed in the Oregon Administrative Rules, and to ensure the Robison Jewish Health Center’s goal of providing care to our residents in an atmosphere of comfort, independence and dignity.

Required Skills/Abilities
Consistent execution of quality customer service. Maintains and demonstrates ethical conduct. Able to effectively communicate with geriatric and/or confused residents and a variety of other people such as family members, visitors, vendors, Private Duty Residents, and staff. Positive and constructive attitude. Ability to do repetitive detail work. Ability to notice change in a resident's physical and/or psycho-social condition and report to the Nurse Supervisor. Ability to be flexible and adapt to change, and take direction from the Nurse Supervisor. Must demonstrate knowledge of body mechanics and the ability to safely transfer residents. Must demonstrate safe feeding techniques. Demonstrated computer proficiency. Experience with EMR preferred.
Working Environment
This position is required to regularly work on campus.
Works in a well-lit and well-ventilated facility. May be exposed to confused, belligerent or physically aggressive residents, may be exposed to contagious diseases and mental stress. Subject to frequent interruptions. Manual dexterity, good vision and hearing is required.
Physical Demands
This position requires regular physical activity throughout the shift, including occasional heavy, moderate, and light lifting (up to 50 lbs). Employees must carry light loads short distances, reach above shoulder level, and push wheelchairs weighing up to 280 lbs multiple times per day. The role involves frequent walking and repeated movements such as twisting, bending, squatting, and turning for most of the shift.
