About The Position

The primary role of the CNA is to provide quality, person-centered, nursing care to the elders according to their Care Plan, and assists the Charge Nurse with tasks to support department operations.

• Provides quality nursing care to elders in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality.
• Provides individualized attention, encouraging each elder's ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
• Attends to the individual needs of elders, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, catheter care, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, lifting, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individuals' care requirements.
• Ensures and maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of elders in the delivery of services to them. Interacts with elders in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.
• Observes elders for changes in condition or behavior and promptly reports these changes to appropriate licensed nursing staff.
• Performs various tasks assigned by the Charge Nurse, including checking vital signs, weighing elders, and applying creams/ointments.
• Completes documentation of care provided and other information according to department policy.
• Valid CNA certification
• CPR certification (preferred)
• Experience with EMR and EHR systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
• Previous experience in patient care and creating care plans
