The NYS Department of Health Veterans Home at Montrose is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide skilled care for veterans and dependents in the facility. Duties include bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, transferring residents, ostomy care, ROM exercises, and assisting the health care team in treatments and observations.
Minimum qualifications require NY Nursing Assistant certification; reassignment options are available for current employees.
The Certified Nursing Assistant will provide skilled care to the veterans and their dependents who reside at our facility, such as but not limited to: bathing, dressing, feeding, general hygiene, transferring residents, care of ostomies, colostomy & ileostomy, maintenance of individual range of motion to prevent contractures, recognizing and reporting abnormal signs and symptoms of common conditions/diseases, measuring and recording fluid intake, and assisting the health care team in treatments and observations, along with all aspects of daily living care.

Minimum Qualifications
Current New York Certification as a Nursing Assistant.
Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health Veterans Home at Montrose employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Nursing Assistant Certified, Grade 8.
All Shift Available.
Salary includes Annual Downstate Adjustment of $4,000.00, geographic differential of $6,000.00 and $575.00 evening/night Shift Differential, if applicable.
