About the unit

Our Rehabilitation and Nursing Center offers short-term rehabilitation after surgery, serious injury or illness. We help patients with many different medical needs and conditions, including neuro recovery and treatment following stroke and brain injury; rehabilitation after elective total joint surgery or complex orthopedic surgery; reconditioning following severe illness; post-cardiac and medically complex care; and rehabilitation for general needs.

Scope of work

Provides directpatient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit. Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding. Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines. Maintains patients' environment/work area/equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel. Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours. Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.

Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Required Completion of State of Michigan approved CNA Training Course

  • CRT-Nursing Assistant - Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Community and Health Systems Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Community and Health Systems UPON HIRE except WITHIN 90 DAYS RNCs (Fuller, Kalamazoo, Reed City, United/Kelsey) Lakeland 120 days Upon Hire required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through AHA or ARC is required within 90 days
