Job summary

Grants Wellness & Rehabilitation in Grants, NM is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a full-time position with a pick-your-shift schedule. Choose between 6am–6pm or 6pm–6am.

Full-time employees are eligible for benefits including 401(k), dental, health, life, and vision insurance. Responsibilities include resident rounds, ID verification before care, assisting with daily activities, and documenting care per facility procedures.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a CNA.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience during certification.
• Must possess sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
• Deal tactfully with residents, family, visitors, and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, and be able to handle residents at various maturity levels.
• Must be in good general health and emotionally stable.
• Must relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly and emotionally upset individuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies and procedures and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to administer nursing care.
• Verify resident identification before care or meals.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator.
• Make beds and clean bedside/overbed tables.
• Ensure water pitchers are clean, filled and within reach.
• Other related duties as directed by Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: GENERAL

• Perform all duties as assigned and in accordance with facility’s established policies and procedures, nursing care procedures and safety rules and regulations.
• Make resident rounds at the beginning of each shift and every two hours thereafter to administer quality nursing care.
• Verify the identification of a resident before administering nursing care or serving food, to assure that appropriate care is being provided to the correct resident.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator immediately.
• Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Assure that water pitchers are cleaned, filled with fresh drinking water and within the resident’s reach.
• Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator.
