Job summary

Alpine Care of Evanston in Evanston, IL, is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join a caring, supportive team. The CNA will perform activities of daily living, observe changes in condition, and help maintain a safe environment for residents.

The role requires a valid CA CNA certification in IL or in process, CPR card, and a commitment to high-quality resident care. Prior CNA experience is preferred. Benefits and union pay apply.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides quality nursing care to guests, maintaining dignity and rights.
• Delivers ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Attends to incontinent care, transfers, ambulation, ROM, and communication.
• Maintains skin integrity, preventing pressure ulcers and skin damage.
• Assists with vital signs, weight checks, and medication-related tasks as directed by floor nurse.
• Follows individual care plans and reports observations to supervisors.

Job Description

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you are the front line of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Alpine Care of Evanston by performing Activities of Daily Living, observing changes in condition, ensuring a safe environment, and maintaining education. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe. Essential functions will include the following to name a few;

1. Provides quality nursing care to Guests in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity and freedom of choice.
2. Provides individualized attention, which encourages each Guest’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.
3. Carry out assignments required for the Guest’s activities of daily living (ADL’s) which include but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
4. Attends to individual needs of all Guests in regards to incontinent care, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication and other needs.
5. Provides care that maintains each Guest’s skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears and other damage by changing incontinent Guests, turning, repositioning immobile Guests and by applying moisturizers to fragile skin and other areas.
6. Performs various tasks assigned by the floor nurse including checking vital signs, weighing Guests, applying creams/ointments and collecting specimens.
7. Must be knowledgeable of individual care plans and support the care planning process by providing supervisors with specific information and observations of the Guest’s needs, preferences and report any behavioral changes.

Pay: $19:00 - $25.50 per hour. (This is an SEIU union position, the pay rates are non-negotiable as they are determined by the union agreement set forth by SEIU.)

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Valid, unencumbered Nursing Assistant Certification (C.N.A.) in the state of practice.
• Active CPR card
• Prior Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA experience is preferable, but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
