Job summary

State of Iowa - Executive Branch is seeking dedicated CNAs for a short-term assignment at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. This non-merit, temporary position offers evening or night shifts with a minimum of 15 weeks or up to 780 hours.

The role requires current Certified Nursing Assistant credentials. You will perform basic personal care per a plan of care, maintain documentation, and may pass medications as indicated.

This is a non-merit, temporary position. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise. Looking for contract or agency work closer to home? The Iowa Veterans Home is looking for short-term CNAs to join our team working FULL TIME hours, on evening or night shift, for a minimum of 15 weeks or up to 780 hours.

• Rate of pay is $28.11. Evening hours are 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and night hours are 8:15 p.m. to 6:15 a.m. Will work every other weekend. This position is not eligible for benefits. The candidate may apply for a permanent position at the end of the 15 weeks if interested.
• Wage of $28.11 is based on employees working a minimum of 80 hours a pay period for 15 weeks. Employees working less hours will have an hourly wage of $19.43-$28.11.
