Description

Participate as a full-time advanced practice provider in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine supporting the ambulatory outpatient practice.

This position is on site only.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of medical services to patients seen in the clinic, under medical direction and supervision of full-time faculty physician(s).
• Manage individual patient care including:
  • Perform health status assessment by obtaining medical history and performing physical examination.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies.
  • Develop and implement treatment plan.
  • Perform other diagnostic, therapeutic or corrective measures as necessary.
• Schedule patients for ancillary services as needed and follow up with patients afterwards.
• Provide patient education and counseling to patients and their families.
• Communicate with the physicians, providing a summary of the clinical data and discussing further evaluation and therapy as needed.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of all care provided.
• Submit billing information.
• Assist in quality assurance audits and responses.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Received passing score on national certifying exam recognized by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• Ability to be licensed in the State of Illinois as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
• Experience providing services to multicultural populations.
• Experience dealing with underrepresented minority populations.

Desirable Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience.
