Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking a certified nurse-midwife to join the expanding midwifery program at Hyde Park. The CNM will provide antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, including newborn assessment, with autonomous decision making and emphasis on low-risk pregnancies.

This full-time position offers a salary range and benefits, with weekend coverage to expand access to care and support teaching and research activities within the department.

Qualifications

• College or university degree required.
• Current Illinois licensure/registration or eligibility; CNM license and AMCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients.
• Perform exams, document data, manage labor and delivery, and prescribe interventions.
• Lead quality and safety projects and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
