Job Description

UM, Capital Region Medical Group,a member of theUniversity of Maryland Medical Systemis seeking aCertified Nurse Midwifeto joinits thriving practice atUM Capital Region Hospitalwhich includes the location at its new State of The Art Facility in Largo, MD. In addition, the CNMs provide outpatient care Midwifery Careforseveraloutpatient medical office locations as well as its own women’s healthcare mobile unit which serves underserved populations within Maryland and DC.

The Certified Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive patient care to patients under the direction of a supervising physician, managing the complex care of the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patient. This includes admission, monitoring and reporting on patient progress and discharge planning and followthrough.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s Degree- Midwifery (Required)
  • Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Master's Degree (Preferred)

Certification / Licensure / Registration

  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Certified Nurse Midwife (Required)
  • Maryland CDS license (Required)
  • Maryland State DEA license (Required)
  • Registered Nurse Certified (Required)
  • NCC EFM Certification (Required within 3 months of hire)

Experience and Skills

  • 2 - 4 years Midwifery experience (Preferred)
  • 0 - 1 year Ability to scrub as a first assistant on Cesarean sections (Preferred)
  • 0 - 1 year Proven skills in third trimester ultrasound (Preferred)
  • Required Skills: Strong Verbal Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Basic Computer Skills, Strong Customer Services Skills, Proven Analytical Skill

Physical Requirements and Physical Demands

  • Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
