Women's Health Connecticut is seeking a Part-time, Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) at Danbury Midwifery Group!

Danbury Midwifery Groups full-scope care includes obstetrics as well as gynecology care, family planning and contraception, teen and adolescent care, menopausal care and so much more!

Position: Certified Nursing Midwife (CNM)
Location: Danbury Midwifery Group

Employment: Part-time
Schedule: Monday- Friday, one-shift per week, with shared on-call
Reports to: Lead Midwife

Position Summary:In collaboration with the attending physician, the CNM is responsible for providing skilled health care to patients dedicated to women’s health and facilitating clinical management of these patients by collaborating with attending providers, clinical nurses, and other members of the health care team. The scope of responsibility is characterized by use of the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate and treat human responses to actual or potential problems utilizing appropriate practices, standards, protocols, and guidelines

Position Responsibilities & Duties

• Provides direct patient care in fast-paced office consultations, including assessment, work-ups, triage, and other patient care activities.
• Obtains and documents health history, performs and documents physical exam, and orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
• Provides counseling to patients regarding diagnosis and expected course of treatment.
• Collaborates with physicians to provide appropriate direct care interventions within scope of practice.
• Collects, organizes, records, and discusses data as appropriate and uses sound clinical judgment based in best practice standards and evidenced based medicine.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals according to patient needs and conducts appropriate patient follow-up & outreach.
• Demonstrates commitment to ongoing education and improvement as evidenced by documentation of attendance at conferences, in-services, seminars, and committee meetings.
• Performs other related duties in support of efficient department operations and superior patient care.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Licenses and Certifications: Required current CT Certified Nurse Midwife License with prescriptive authority (American Midwifery Certification Board exam).National Certification in Advanced Practice and current CPR certification. Training or certification in Family Medicine.
• 5-10 years of experience as a Certified Nursing Midwife is preferred, however, candidates with less experience will be considered.
• EMR/EHR systems experience is required.
• Exceptional patient care experience and the desire to continue to learn and grow as a Midwife, is essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
