Job Description

The CNA Training program offers candidates an opportunity to work while acquiring the necessary education and skills to become a certified nursing assistant. Upon successful completion of the program and certification, candidates will become full-time CNAs on either the evening or night shift.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the CNA provides patient supervision, maintains patient safety, and completes observation flow sheets.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Function as a team member alongside nurses and other healthcare staff, providing patient supervision and communicating changes in patient condition to the nurse.
  2. Accurately document observations on the Constant Observation flow sheet.
  3. Interact with patients, visitors, and staff to support patients' specific needs related to age, culture, spiritual, physical, and mental challenges.
  4. Ensure a safe environment to promote patient safety.
  5. Maintain patient safety by requesting assistance for personal care needs.
  6. Accompany patients to other departments as needed.
  7. Keep the patient environment free of clutter and hazards.
  8. Report defective equipment and unsafe conditions.
  9. Follow policy for Constant Observation at all times.
  10. Perform related duties as required. All responsibilities are considered essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned but related are not considered essential.
