Qualifications

• CNA license required.
• School experience recommended but not required.
• 1:1 care for a pre-K student during transport and school day.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 nursing care for a pre-K student during transport.
• Monitor for signs of hypoglycemia and perform finger-stick glucose tests if needed.
• Manage g-tube feeding pump and troubleshoot per nursing plan.
• Observe for seizures and administer sublingual medication as directed.
• Collaborate with RN and school nurse between bus rides.

If signs are noted, conduct a finger stick blood glucose check. Treat with orange juice via g-tube if indicated in nursing plan and medical orders.If student has a g-tube feeding going while on the bus, monitor the pump for kinks, occlusions, or other issues and troubleshoot as outlined in nursing plan.Monitor for signs of seizure activity.
