Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant or Nurse Assistant Apprentice to join the Med Surg unit. You will provide basic patient care under nursing guidance, including taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens, while reporting any changes in condition.

A strong emphasis on communication and reliability supports patient safety and care quality. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; experience in patient care is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: Preferred High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience: Preferred prior patient care or health care-related experience.
• Licensure/Certification: BLS must be obtained within 90 days.
• Licensure/Certification: Missouri CNA License or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff.
• Take vitals, bathe, dress, move patients, and change linens.
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe patient environment.

Job Summary

Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. While in the clinical learning environment, will provide basic patient care under direction and supervision of clinical educator and nursing staff. During clinical rotation, may perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and other duties within their scope of practice as directed. While in clinical setting, obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes in patient condition. At the end of the training, a competency assessment will be administered to validate learning.

• 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years OR
• Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years OR
• Completed the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program OR
• Must have Missouri CNA License OR
• Must have MO CNA Appendix AND MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire
