Job summary

CoxHealth in Springfield, MO is seeking an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel trainee to provide basic patient care under nursing supervision. You will perform vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and support daily care within your scope of training.

Training context includes clinical learning with a focus on reporting condition changes, and completing credentialing such as BLS within 90 days; a strong emphasis on communication, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years
• Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years
• Completed the “fundamentals of nursing” course with clinical in an accredited nursing program or practical nursing education program
• Must have Missouri CNA License
• MO CNA Appendix AND MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire

Job Summary

Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. While in the clinical learning environment, will provide basic patient care under direction and supervision of clinical educator and nursing staff. During clinical rotation, may perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and other duties within their scope of practice as directed. While in clinical setting, obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes in patient condition. At the end of the training, a competency assessment will be administered to validate learning.

Job Requirements

Education Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience

Experience Preferred: Prior patient care or health care related experience
