Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Nurse Assistant trainee to provide essential patient care on a 36-hour weekly night shift in the 200 W South Medical-Surgical unit. You will support nurses by taking vitals, assisting with hygiene, mobility, and linens, and communicating patient condition changes.

Training and clinical education are provided within a collaborative team setting. Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, MO CNA license or completion of an approved program with MO

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • MO CNA License or complete CNA program with MO appendix within 120 days of hire appears in qualifications.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care under nursing staff supervision.
  • Take vitals, bathe, dress, move patients and change linens.
  • Report changes in patient condition to nurses or clinical educator.
  • Assist on a 30-bed medical-surgical unit with diverse patient needs.

The team serves a broad age range, from young adults to patients over 100 — offering diverse and valuable clinical experiences.The unit specializes in medical, surgical, and gynecologic/oncology care. Common procedures include hysterectomies, mastectomies, bowel resections, and various oncology surgeries.
