Job summary

CoxHealth in Springfield, Missouri is offering an entry-level Nursing Assistant Training Program within the Medical ICU South. This position provides basic patient care under nursing supervision, including vitals, bathing, dressing, and linen changes as you train.

Candidates must meet Missouri CNA requirements, complete a Nurse Assistant Training Program, and obtain BLS within 90 days. Previous health care exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in inpatient/long-term care, EMT, or Surgical Technologist within last 3 years or equivalent.
• Completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel program within 3 years or completion of fundamentals of nursing with clinical.
• Missouri CNA License or MO CNA Appendix and license within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Nurse Assistant Training Program

Job Summary

Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. While in the clinical learning environment, will provide basic patient care under direction and supervision of clinical educator and nursing staff. During clinical rotation, may perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and other duties within their scope of practice as directed. While in clinical setting, obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes in patient condition. At the end of the training, a competency assessment will be administered to validate learning.
