Job summary

Weston County Health Services is seeking a Full-Time Long-Term Care CNA (Night-Shift) to provide compassionate, hands-on care for residents. You will respond to call lights, assist with ADLs, monitor vitals, document care, and work within a collaborative team focused on dignity and quality of life.

Cross-training across departments is encouraged, with a sign-on and referral bonuses offered. Starting pay is $22.64/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong knowledge of medical terminology and processes.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to take after-hours calls and work nights/weekends.
  • Willing to cross-train and support staffing across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to patient call lights and assess needs for appropriate support.
  • Provide hands-on ADL assistance including mobility, hygiene, and comfort care.
  • Turn, reposition, and assist bedridden patients per care plans and safety guidelines.
  • Support nutritional needs by following dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Gather and communicate information regarding patient condition and treatment plans.
  • Record vital signs and monitor intake of food and fluids.
  • Observe for changes in condition and report to nursing staff.
  • Communicate patient concerns to nurses promptly.
  • Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors with directions and support.
  • Identify and report safety hazards to ensure a safe care environment.

Compensation

starting at $22.64/hour depending on experience

Currently offering:
  • Referral Bonuses for helping us grow our team
  • Sign-On Bonuses for new hires

For the CNA role, you have the opportunity to earn a sign-on bonus of $1,500, with a 50% payment at hire and the remainder at 6 months.

Refer someone and receive $1,500 for a CNA, $2,000 for a LPN, and $3,000 for an RN, with 50% payment at hire and the remainder at 6 months.

What You'll Do

Respond promptly to patient call lights and assess needs to determine appropriate support or escalation

Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, personal hygiene, and comfort care

Turn, reposition, and assist bedridden patients per care plans and safety guidelines

Support nutritional needs by following dietary restrictions, food allergies, and resident preferences

Gather and communicate relevant information regarding patient condition, treatment plans, and recommended activities

Measure, monitor, and accurately record food and fluid intake

Obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respirations, as directed

Observe patients for changes in condition or signs requiring medical attention and report findings to nursing staff

Communicate patients concerns, complaints, or symptoms clearly and promptly to nurses

Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors professionally, providing directions and support as needed

Introduce yourself to patients, families, and visitors to promote comfort and trust

Identify and report safety hazards to ensure a safe care environment

Replenish supplies and maintain organized patient care areas

Adhere to all infection control practices, including proper hand hygiene, standard precautions, and isolation protocols

What We're Looking For

High School Diploma or equivalent

Exceptional knowledge of medical terminology and processes.

Has and maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Strong written and oral communication skills

Willingness to take after-hours calls, work nights, weekends, pick up shifts, and flexibility in scheduling, due to patient care needs.

Willing to cross-train and support staffing needs across departments, including picking up shifts in acute care

Physical Requirements and Conditions

This position requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.

Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
