Job summary

Advanced Technologies Home Care is seeking a Float Aide to support clients at home, helping them stay in their own residences longer and assisting with various tasks when not with clients.

Primary duties include meal prep, personal care, light housekeeping, and administrative tasks such as phone calls and emails. Candidates should be 18+, with some care experience and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum one year of direct patient care experience preferred (Skilled Nursing Facility or In-Home Care Agency).
• Computer experience (Microsoft Office) required.

Responsibilities

• Planning, preparation, and clean-up of meals.
• Making beds and changing linens with participants.
• Brushing, combing, and shampooing hair.
• Giving bed baths or assisting with shower or tub baths.
• Assisting with oral care and denture care as needed.
• Assistance to move between bed, wheelchair, walker, or chair.
• Assisting with self-administered medications (open bottles, provide water).
• Tidying and dusting the home; cleaning kitchen counters, cupboards, appliances, oven, fridge.
• Laundering clothes and linens; making beds and changing sheets.
• Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors; bagging trash for pickup.
• Shopping for essential items (groceries, cleaning supplies).
• Advanced Personal Care: Ostomy care, catheter care, bowel programs, insulin setup, vital signs and weights.
• General admin duties: emails, phone calls, filing, data entry.

Job Purpose:

The basic function of a Float Aide is to perform tasks that enable clients to remain in their own homes and out of long-term care facilities for as long as possible. Assisting with administrative duties such as filing, making phone calls, answering the phone, and assisting with various projects when not caring for clients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Planning, preparation, and clean–up of meals
• Making beds and changing linens with the participants in or out of bed as required
• Brushing, combing, and shampooing hair
• Giving bed baths or assisting with shower or tub bath
• Assist with oral care such as brushing teeth or denture care when the participant is unable.
• Giving assistance to and from the bed to a wheelchair, walker, or chair when a participant is weight-bearing.
• Assisting the participants with ordinarily self-administered medications (open bottles, get water)
• Tidying and dusting the home;
• Cleaning kitchen counters, cupboards, and appliances, including oven, surface burners and fridge
• Laundering clothes and linens;
• Making beds and changing sheets;
• Sweeping and/or vacuuming and mopping floors;
• Bagging trash inside the home and putting it out for pick-up;
• Shopping for essential items (e.g., groceries, cleaning supplies, etc.;
• Advanced Personal Care - Assist with Ostomy Care, assist with catheter care, perform bowel programs, administer non-injectable meds, assist with Insulin set-up, and perform vital signs and weights
• General administrative duties include sending emails, answering the phone, filing, and data entry.

Skills/Education

• Home Care aide must be 18 years of age. A minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care with either a Skilled Nursing Facility or an In-Home Care Agency is preferred.
