Position Overview

TIME TYPE: FULL TIME (3, 12 hr shifts per week)
SHIFT: ROTATING (07:00-19:30, 19:30-07:00)

Responsibilities
  1. Assists patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization.
  2. Performs basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN and in accordance with policy and procedure to promote patient health and wellness.
  3. Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
  4. Performs administrative support functions.
  5. Maintains necessary skills and competencies.
  6. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Compensation

Position Compensation Range: $15.37 - $23.82 Hourly

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Experience: No experience required
  • Licensure: AHA Health Care Provider BLS Certification required
  • Certification to practice as a Nurse Aide in Virginia OR meeting one of the following criteria:
  1. Successful completion of the UVA PCT Education Program OR another approved PCT Education Program.
  2. Proof of at least 1 year of recent (within past 2 years) experience in a similar PCT role, with successful completion of a written exam and clinical skills demonstration during a 6-month probation.
  3. Passage of a nationally recognized PCT Certification exam (e.g., NHA-C-PCT). Present Certificate as verification.
  • OR meet one of the following criteria:
  1. Currently enrolled student nurses who have completed Medical/Surgical Clinical Experience and Didactic coursework.
  2. EMT or higher certification; candidate must complete UVA PCT Course within 6 months.
  3. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Physical Demands

Job requires frequent bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs and over 100 lbs (Home Health Aide only). Exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases may occur.
