Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs specific resident care procedures under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Answers call lights/bells courteously in a timely manner.
• Assists with admitting, transferring and discharging residents.
• Assists with implementation of resident activities.
• Completes resident care record each shift.
• Provides a pleasant and safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.
• Responds to all emergency situations following appropriate procedures and notifications.
• Performs and adheres to all policies and procedures related to Infection Control safety regulations including fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, etc.
• Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of certified nurse aide program. CNA certification valid and in good standing. 1 year experience as a certified nurse aide, preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and cooperate with and respond effectively to the instructions and requests from a diverse group of residents, visitors and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
• Good writing and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them.
• Ability to respond to and work with a mature resident population, creating a warm, caring and supportive environment for the enjoyment of the residents and to promote this philosophy to all team members.
