Blue Skies of Texas Senior Living Community is seeking a caring CNA to join our Skilled Nursing team in San Antonio, TX. You will perform personal care, assist residents with daily living activities, and report changes to the nurse in charge.

The role requires current Texas Nurse Aide Registry certification and CPR, with a valid Texas driver’s license. AED certification is preferred, and experience with geriatric or hospice residents is a plus.

Qualifications

• Currently certified and registered with the Texas Nurse Aide Registry.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with proof of insurance.
• AED certification preferred.
• Experience with geriatric and/or hospice care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting and nutrition.
• Maintain safe, clean environment and clear pathways for residents.
• Support ambulation, transfers, and ROM exercises as directed.
• Provide personal care and incidental services under supervision.
• Report changes in resident condition to the Nursing Supervisor.

We are looking for dedicated professionals like yourself to be a part of our Skilled Nursing department.

As a CNA, you will be responsible for various personal care and incidental activities through supportive professional services to meet the needs of patients in accomplishing activities of daily living. Duties involve personal grooming, oral care, personal hygiene, providing nourishment, taking and recording vital signs, etc. Reports any patient changes to the assigned nurse.

What you will do in this role:

• Assists, performs, and trains patients/residents in activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting and elimination, and nutritional intake.
• Promotes safe and clean interior/exterior physical environment and maintains unobstructed pathways while providing care.
• Assists with ambulation, transfers, and/or range of motion exercises.
• Assists with activities of daily living such as, light meal preparation, socialization activities, and light homemaking chores related to direct patient care..
• Utilizes infection control measures such as hand washing, standard precautions, and use of personal protective equipment.
• Organizes self to carry out various visits, shifts, and/or tasks.
• Accompanies residents to/from appointments as requested and assigned.
• Reports any concerns or changes in the client’s condition and needs to the Nursing Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor.

Work Schedule: Work schedule normally coincides with one of three standard nursing shifts to allow coverage for a 24/7 operation. Exact duty hours are established by the Director of Nursing, and the Administrator and employees are advised of their schedules in advance.

• Required: possess current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
