Position Details:

Under supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities.

Reports to: Director

FLSA: Non-exempt

Education: High School graduate or equivalent.

Licensing Requirements:

• CNA 1 License: Completion of high school Health/Science curriculum, prerequisites for Nursing programs, CNA program, or 1-year Nurse Aide experience.
• CNA 2 License: Current Texas CNA certification and listing on the Texas Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry; three years of full-time PRMC nurse aide experience in good standing may substitute for certification.

Certifications:

• Current American Heart Association BLS certificate

Skills Needed:

• Basic computer knowledge
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently
• Ability to work in stressful environments and take appropriate actions

• Performs delegated patient care activities, including monitoring vital signs, blood glucose, and recording intake/output
• Assists patients with personal care and daily activities
