Join the Virtus Healthcare Staffing Team! We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our partner, a leading healthcare facility in Tulsa, OK.

Provide Essential Diagnostic Imaging Services

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. You will utilize radiopharmaceuticals to perform a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

Responsibilities :

Conduct a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, including bone scans, cardiac imaging, thyroid scans, and PET / CT scans.

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Acquire high-quality images using nuclear medicine cameras and other imaging equipment.
  • Patient Care :

Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures clearly.

  • Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the examination process.
  • Educate patients on the importance of the examination and answer their questions.
  • Technical Expertise :

Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment effectively.

  • Analyze images and identify potential abnormalities.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of all examinations.

Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.

  • Prepare and interpret reports accurately and efficiently.
  • Quality Assurance :

Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities.

  • Radiation Safety :

Adhere to all radiation safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.

Qualifications :

  • Certification :

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine (N) OR

  • Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • If registry eligible upon hire, must obtain certification within one year of employment.
  • Experience : Experience with a variety of nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Skills :

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient care skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
  • CPR Certified.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with PET / CT imaging.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
