Job description

We are a respected Montessori preschool located in Decatur, Georgia, committed to providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. Our school values Montessori principles and offers a holistic approach to early childhood education. We are looking for a Montessori trained teacher for newly added Georgia Pre-K classroom.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as a Primary Guide in a Montessori classroom, implementing Montessori principles and curriculum to foster independence, creativity, and a love for learning among young children.
  2. Create and maintain a prepared Montessori environment that supports the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.
  3. Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities based on Montessori philosophy.
  4. Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.
  5. Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching educational experience for all students.
  6. As a Georgia Pre-K classroom teacher, implement the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) and curriculum guidelines.
  7. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development and prepares children for future academic success.
  8. Establish strong partnerships with families, encouraging involvement in their child's education and development.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree is a must, Master or PhD degree preferred.
  2. Montessori certification (AMS or AMI) required.
  3. Master's degree in Education preferred.
  4. Experience working in a Montessori environment and familiarity with Montessori materials and methods.
  5. Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  6. Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to promoting each child's individual growth and development.
  7. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community members.
  8. Ability to create a supportive and respectful learning environment that meets the needs of diverse learners.
