Job summary

Urban Health Plan is seeking a Certified Midwife to provide primary care services within our Bronx, NY clinics. The midwife will join a multidisciplinary team to examine patients, conduct tests, and manage treatment plans while coordinating referrals and labs.

Requirements include completion of an approved midwifery program, AMCB certification, and a valid NY license with CDS/DEA and BLS. Emphasis on patient-centered care and community health is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved/accredited educational program for midwifery.
• Pass the examination developed and administered by the AMCB.
• Valid NY State license, CDS, DEA, and BLS.
• Ability to effectively communicate, follow established procedures and protocol.
• Understanding of and passion for Community Healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care services as part of the primary care clinical team.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to care for patients, including exams and tests.
• Prescribe/ administer treatment, therapy, vaccines, and other care per plan.

Job Description

We are looking for Certified Midwife to provide primary care services as part of our primary care clinical team. The midwife will work with a multi-disciplinary team to care for and provide medical services to patients, including examining/conducting tests; analyze records, reports, and test results; to prevent and or diagnose illness, disease or injury; prescribe/administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, and/or injury; explain procedures and test results on prescribed treatment plan; manage labs, referrals. The midwife will collaborate with other nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants and other support staff as part of the clinical team.

Experience and Skills

• Completion of an approved/accredited educational program for midwifery


• Pass the examination developed and administered by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
