Job summary

Genesiscareers in Waterville, ME is seeking a Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will administer medications and medicated creams, maintain supplies, and document administration per policy.

The role requires completion of state-approved CNA training and a medication aide program, plus at least one year as a CNA. Strong English communication is essential to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a state approved medication aide training course is required.
• Completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant training program is required.
• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant with one year of experience as a CNA.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors to respond to their medical and physical needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer routine and PRN medications to patients as prescribed by the physician and document administration per policy.
• Maintain medication supply, clean and restock medicine carts and medicine room.
• Notify pharmacy of new medication orders and refills.
• Perform accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drug therapy

Responsibilities

Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the Certified Medicine Aide administers medications and medicated creams within the standards of practice as permitted by their Certification and per state regulations.
