Job summary

Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions is seeking a Certified Medication Technician for the part-time day shift in Kentucky. The role involves administering prescribed medications under RN supervision, documenting administration, and ensuring infection control and safety standards are followed.

Requirements include High School diploma or equivalent, 1 year medical experience preferred, and state certification as a Medication Technician with CPR.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year related experience in a medical environment preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Must be certified as a Medication Technician in the state within which services are provided and have current CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications under RN supervision in compliance with policy and regulations.
  • Document medication administration and reasons for non-administration in the MAR.
  • Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols during medication delivery.
  • Participate in audits and report adverse reactions to supervisors.
  • Maintain medication supplies and uphold HIPAA confidentiality standards.

How You Make a Difference

The Certified Medication Technician is responsible for administering prescribed medications under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role includes documenting medication administration, adhering to infection control protocols, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The technician participates in audits and data collection to support performance improvement efforts, monitors for adverse reactions and reports them promptly, maintains medication supply levels, and ensures patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
