Job summary

Weathervane Senior Living is seeking a Certified Medication Technician to assist residents with medication management, ensuring safety and dignity. You will work closely with the nursing and wellness team to ensure timely, accurate medication administration and documentation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a Medication Administration training program, and at least 1 year of direct senior care experience. Weekend/holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medication Administration training program.
• One year experience providing direct care to seniors in a long term care setting (medication assistant experience preferred).

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications according to physician orders and community protocols.
• Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions and perform vital signs checks.
• Maintain accurate records in the EHR system.
• Assist with medication inventory, ordering, and ensure storage, counts, and handling compliance.
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
• Collaborate with Wellness Director, care team, and healthcare providers on resident care plans.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe medication area and promote a supportive wellness environment.
• Provide attentive, compassionate service respecting mobility, cognitive and sensory needs.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and team members upholding ethics and integrity.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of a Medication Administration training program
• One year experience providing direct care to seniors in a long term care setting, medication assistant experience in a health care setting preferred.
