Job summary

Laramie Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Medication Assistant (MA-C) to administer prescribed medications to residents and maintain related medical records under supervision of the Nurse.

Essential duties include verifying identity, presenting or administering medications, monitoring responses, documenting exceptions, and managing medication inventories. CNA background and MA-C certification are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand, plan, and carry out care plans and treatments.
• Must hold CNA certification for one year and MA-C certification.
• Successful completion of state-approved training for Certified Medication Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Verifies resident identity and records drug details and administration time.
• Presents medication to residents or administers as prescribed.
• Monitors resident responses and notes vital signs as needed.
• Documents reasons for not administering prescribed drugs.
• Receives, restocks, and organizes medication supplies.

Job Summary:

Laramie Health and Rehabilitationis seeking aCertified Medication Assistant (MA-C) to administer prescribed medications to residents and maintains related medical records under supervision of the Nurse.

Essential Functions:

• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms
• Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified processes.
• Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report
• Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.
• Receive supply of ordered medications and apportion, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to resident.
• Record and restock medication inventories.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

• Ability to understand, plan, and carry out care plans and treatments.

Education, Licensure, And Experience:

• Certified Nursing Assistant for one year.
• Successful completion of training approved by the State for Certified Medication Assistants.
• Must currently be certified as a Medication Aide (MA-C)
