Job summary

Laramie Health and Rehabilitation in Laramie, WY is seeking a Certified Medication Assistant (MA-C) to administer prescribed medications to residents under supervision of the Nurse and to maintain related medical records.

The role requires an active MA-C certification, a CNA background, and completion of state-approved training. Night and weekend shifts may include differential pay and requires strong attention to resident safety and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to understand, plan, and carry out care plans and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Verify resident identity and medication details on administration forms.
• Present or administer medications and observe ingestion or effect.
• Monitor resident responses and document vital signs as required.
• Record reasons for not administering prescribed drugs as directed.
• Receive, prepare, and restock medication supplies and inventories.

Job Summary:

Laramie Health and Rehabilitationis seeking aCertified Medication Assistant (MA-C) to administer prescribed medications to residents and maintains related medical records under supervision of the Nurse.

Essential Functions:

• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms
• Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified processes.
• Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report
• Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.
• Receive supply of ordered medications and apportion, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to resident.
• Record and restock medication inventories.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

• Ability to understand, plan, and carry out care plans and treatments.

Education, Licensure, And Experience:

• Certified Nursing Assistant for one year.
• Successful completion of training approved by the State for Certified Medication Assistants.
• Must currently be certified as a Medication Aide (MA-C)
