Job summary

Alaris Health at The Atrium in Jersey City, NJ, seeks a certified medicine aide (CMA) to administer routine medications and support resident care. The role involves reporting changes to the supervising nurse, maintaining medication supplies, and ensuring proper documentation and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be a CMA with CAN qualifications and at least one year of nursing experience.
• Completed a New Jersey State approved medicine course with a passing grade.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing related bedside resident care services.
• Familiar with regulations of the Center.
• Good understanding of basic medical asepsis, sterile techniques and universal precautions to avoid infection.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Report observations concerning resident condition or medication issues to supervising nurse.
• Maintain medication supply and assist with ordering and restocking medications.
• Prepare, administer and chart medications as prescribed.
• Process physician orders to ensure proper administration.
• Assist with medication room cleanliness and cart organization.
• Participate in resident treatment and report unusual conditions or emergencies.
