Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services seeks a Certified Medication Aide to accurately administer prescribed meds and monitor residents in Bastrop, TX. You will prepare, dispense, and document medications, observe for adverse effects, and report findings to the charge nurse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of State Approved Medication Aide Training and Competency Evaluation.
• Good standing in the state registry is required.
• Working knowledge of Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogen rules.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments as defined by state regulations and policy.
• Observe and report reactions and side-effects to medications to the charge nurse.
• Record vital signs prior to medication administration and document any deviations.
• Document administerd medications in the resident's MAR and notify nurse as needed.
• Apply ophthalmic, otic, nasal, and vaginal medications as ordered.
• Assist with daily care tasks and maintain cleanliness of nursing and medication areas.
• Support nurses with lifting, transfers, and routine resident care as needed.
