Qualifications

• Holds a current Texas Medication Aide certification.
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications: PO, topical, and rectal as prescribed and per policy.
• Monitor and report adverse reactions or changes in resident status.
• Document all medication administration accurately in logs and records.
• Maintain a safe medication cart and environment to prevent hazards.
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Adhere to infection control procedures during medication administration.
• Report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse immediately.
