Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to administer oral and topical medications to patients under physician orders and the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal regulations. The role focuses on maintaining health, comfort and well-being through accurate medication delivery and documentation.

This position requires adherence to the five rights of medication administration, proper patient observation, timely record-keeping, and participation in ongoing

Qualifications

• State certification as a Nursing Assistant is mandatory.
• State approved medication administration certification is required where applicable.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• May take and record vital signs as required by medications.
• Records administration of medications and treatments accurately.
• Observes for reactions/side effects and reports to a licensed nurse or supervisor.
• Properly secures medication carts and rooms per policy.
• Attends facility education in-services.
