Job summary

Wellington Rehabilitation & Healthcare is seeking a qualified Certified Medication Aide to join our team on a part-time basis. You will verify resident identities, administer medications, document accurately, and coordinate with supervisory staff to ensure safety and compliance.

The role requires NC Board of Nursing training and a state competency exam, with opportunities to engage in care team discussions and caregiver support.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, or experience as required by state regulations.
• Completed 24-hour training program provided by NC Board of Nursing
• Passed a State-administered competency exam.
• You must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.

Responsibilities

• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms.
• Clarifies any order or treatment regimen believed to be inaccurate, ineffective or contraindicated by consulting with supervisory nurse.
• Takes and records vital signs upon administration of medications when required.
• Orders and re-orders medications in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Maintains neat, clean, and orderly medication room and cart.
• Completes required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure effective interactions with patients and families.
• Ensure compliance with resident's rights policies.
• Attend and participate in care team conferences or meetings as directed by supervisor.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
