Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Medication Assistant to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living support in a not-for-profit 100-year organization in Ellsworth, KS. The role involves administering medications under nurse supervision, documenting care, and assisting with transfers, meals, and activities, with travel to nearby locations within a 75-mile radius.

Required or preferred CNA/CMA certification depending on state, with 18+ years of age, and ongoing competency testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Must complete yearly competency testing and continuing education credits.
• May require valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• CMA/TMA certification may be required depending on state.
• Must have CMA or CNA certification as applicable in each state.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, and activities.
• Collect vital signs and monitor resident condition.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, and range-of-motion exercises.
• Assist with meals and dining and support nutrition.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry support to residents.
• Encourage participation in wellness and recreational programs.
