Job summary

UTMB Health seeks a healthcare support professional to assist in providing patient care within a correctional setting. Duties include assisting with hygiene, feeding, mobility and monitoring, while ensuring safety and privacy. You will document vital signs, manage specimens, and support medication distribution under supervision.

This role requires the ability to work within a secure environment, handle routine clinical tasks, and participate in continuing education to meet ACA standards.

Qualifications

• High school or GED equivalent.
• Ability to collect vital signs and document data.
• Experience assisting with medication distribution is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, report and document vital signs, height/weight, intake/output and specimens.
• Perform Point of Care Testing and assist with patient care per care plan.
• Distribute and document medications in general and secure environments.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, mobility and safety in a correctional setting.
• Support nursing staff and participate in ongoing education.
