Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking a part-time Allied Health Regularposition to perform technical duties in patient care within a correctional health setting. The role includes assisting with hygiene, feeding, mobility, medication distribution, and maintaining a safe care environment at Ferguson Facility.

The incumbent must hold a Texas Certified Medication Aide permit and complete ongoing education hours annually, while adhering to department controls and reporting structures.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Texas CMA permit.

Responsibilities

• Collects, reports and documents vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry, and specimens.
• Assists with patient activities and care per the plan of care.
• Assists with hygiene, wound care, feeding, and mobility for patients.
• Maintains a safe environment and manages medications and supplies.
• Distributes and documents medications from prescriptions per policies.
• Ensures drug room security and upkeep of stock and equipment.
• Enters medication data into the pharmacy computer system.
• Completes 40 hours of continuing education annually.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structures.
• Performs related duties as required.

Education

Current Texas Certified Medication Aide permit.
