We are looking for skilled CMAs (Certified Medication Aide) to become part of our facility's compassionate caregiving team! The CMA will support the community by ensuring residents are well cared for and receive accurate medications as ordered by the physician/physician extender, in accordance with established nursing standards, standards of medication aide practices, state and federal requirements, and community guidelines related to medication administration.

• Shift: Baylor Pay / Baylor Shift, Double Weekends
• (Sat/Sun 6 am - 10 pm)

Responsibilities

• Obtain report from licensed nurse/CMA being relieved and record sufficient information related to medication administration to implement accurate changes to medication orders.
• Administer medications accurately and timely, including correct resident, medication, dose, route, and time.
• Observe residents for effectiveness of drug therapy and adverse effects; report immediately to licensed nurse.
• Document resident care related to medication administration and monitoring; report any adverse effects or changes in condition.
• Notify licensed nurse of observed changes, medication errors, unavailability, and other observations.
• Perform duties of Certified Nurse Aide as assigned.
• Follow comprehensive care plans based on each resident’s needs and assessments.
• Participate in community education programs.
• Respond promptly to residents’ calls for assistance.
• Verify accuracy of narcotic count, check emergency kits, and exchange keys.
• Obtain required in-service hours.
• Observe infection control procedures.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
• Store medications properly, monitor expiration dates, and follow destruction procedures.

Must-Haves for Role

• Certified Medication Aide in Texas
• CPR certification (preferred)
• Reliable transportation
