Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilition Center, 340 E. South Street, Richmond, KS 66080

*Must be willing to work every other weekend.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), you are responsible for providing routine nursing care and ensuring the med pass is completed timely and accurately in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator. Your goal is to maintain the highest quality of resident care at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a current certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm. Be willing to handle residents based on their current maturity level.
GENERAL DUTIES
  • Assist in passing medications to residents on your assigned unit.
  • Prepare residents for therapy, activities, physician visits, religious services, etc., including transportation.
  • Prepare and administer medication documentation, ensuring the right medications are given to the right patient at the right time, dose, and route.
  • Assist residents with proper hygiene and bathing as assigned, encouraging self-help activities when possible.
  • Follow infection control procedures, especially when isolation techniques are necessary.
  • Chart required information every shift related to your role as a CMA.
  • Present a professional image through dress, behavior, and speech.
  • Adhere to company standards for resolving resident concerns.
  • Protect all resident rights.
