Job summary

Harmony House Care Center in Waterloo, IA is seeking a Certified Medication Aide for the 2nd shift to join our caring team. You will ensure residents receive the medications they need and support daily living activities.

As the front line of the Clinical Department, you will observe changes in condition, maintain a safe environment, and help educate residents and staff. A high school diploma or equivalent, Iowa CNA and Medication Aide training, and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, Iowa CNA certificate, and CPR certification are required.
• Successful completion of Iowa-approved Medication Aide training.
• One year CNA and Medication Aide experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medications to residents and document administration.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report to the clinical team.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and observe safety protocols.
• Support ongoing resident education and care planning.

As a Medication Aide you are the front line of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Harmony House Care Center by providing our residents with the medications they need, performing Activities of Daily Living, observing changes in condition, ensuring a safe environment, and maintaining education. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent, an unencumbered State of Iowa C.N.A. certificate, successful completion of State of Iowa approved Medication Aide training and C.P.R. certification. One (1) year of C.N.A. and Medication Aide experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate.
