Job summary

Oelwein Healthcare Center in Iowa is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our caring clinical team on a PRN, on-call basis. You will administer medications, assist residents with daily living activities, and monitor changes in condition to ensure safety and comfort.

We require an unencumbered Iowa CNA certificate, completion of Iowa-approved Medication Aide training, a high school diploma or equivalent, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Unencumbered Iowa CNA certificate.
• Completion of Iowa-approved Medication Aide training.
• CPR certification.
• One year of CNA and Medication Aide experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living.
• Observe changes in residents’ condition.

As a Certified Medication Aide you are the front line of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Oelwein Healthcare Center by providing our residents with the medications they need, performing Activities of Daily Living, observing changes in condition, ensuring a safe environment, and maintaining education. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent, an unencumbered State of Iowa C.N.A. certificate, successful completion of State of Iowa approved Medication Aide training and C.P.R. certification. One (1) year of C.N.A. and Medication Aide experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate.
