This QMA position will oversee scheduling for nurses and aides in the building. Previous experience strongly desired.
Position Summary
The Certified Medication Aide delivers quality care to patients during the admission and readmission process in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a State approved CNA program
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
- One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
- Completed a State approved program and exam for Certified Medication Aide
Specific Job Requirements
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility
- Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
- Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and complete mandatory compliance training
Essential Functions
- Accurately and safely prepare, administer, store, and document medications as ordered by attending physicians
- Assist in developing procedures to assess and prevent medication errors
- Report medication errors immediately
- Ensure medications are administered only with a written, signed, and dated order
- Chart appropriately and timely
- Perform CNA functions as directed by supervisor
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in patient evacuation when necessary
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Use reasoning skills and good judgment during work
- Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking during working hours
- Read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently
