Job summary

Hillcrest Health & Living seeks compassionate Medication Aides to join teams across Omaha, Papillion, Gretna, and Bellevue. Provide safe medication assistance, personal care, and dignity to residents and guests while supporting a multi-location care team.

The role offers full-time, part-time, and PRN schedules with days, evenings, and overnights, across multiple Hillcrest communities. CNA and Medication Aide credentials are required in Nebraska.

Qualifications

  • Active CNA certification in Nebraska.
  • Active Medication Aide certification in Nebraska.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in long-term care, post-acute care, or senior living preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with medication administration according to physician orders, care plans, and facility procedures.
  • Follow the five rights of medication administration and maintain resident privacy and dignity.
  • Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the nurse.
  • Provide personal care and daily support per each resident’s care plan.
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, mobility, toileting, and other care needs.
  • Support with meals, hydration, dining, and daily routines.
  • Answer call lights promptly and determine resident needs.
  • Document medication assistance and care provided accurately.
  • Collaborate with nurses, Nurse Techs, therapy, and other team members.
  • Follow infection-control practices and Hillcrest policies.
  • Help maintain clean, safe care areas.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, guests, families, nurses.

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for compassionate and dependable Medication Aides to join our teams across multiple Hillcrest locations in Omaha, Papillion, and Bellevue.

As a Medication Aide, you will support that mission by providing safe medication assistance, personal care, comfort, and dignity to residents and guests.

What You’ll Do
You Will
  • Assist with medication administration according to physician orders, care plans, and facility procedures.
  • Follow the five rights of medication administration and maintain resident privacy and dignity.
  • Observe residents and guests for changes in condition, behavior, or needs and report concerns promptly to the nurse.
  • Provide personal care and daily support based on each resident’s or guest’s care plan.
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, mobility, toileting, and other care needs as directed.
  • Support residents and guests with meals, hydration, dining, and daily routines.
  • Answer call lights timely and help determine resident or guest needs.
  • Document medication assistance, care provided, refusals, and changes accurately and timely.
  • Partner with nurses, Nurse Techs, therapy, and other team members to support quality care.
  • Follow infection‑control practices, safety standards, and Hillcrest policies and procedures.
  • Help maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident care areas.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with residents, guests, families, nurses, and team members.

Ideal Candidates Will Have
  • Experience working with older adults and providing personal care services in long-term care, post-acute care, hospital, senior living, or a similar setting preferred.
  • A compassionate, dependable, and respectful approach to care.
  • Strong attention to detail with medications, documentation, safety, and follow‑through.
  • Strong communication skills with residents, guests, families, nurses, and team members.
  • Ability to notice changes in condition and report concerns promptly.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • A team‑first mindset and willingness to support others throughout the shift.
  • Comfort using technology and care resources efficiently and effectively.
Education & Credentials
  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska required.
  • Active Medication Aide certification in the state of Nebraska required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous long‑term care, post‑acute care, hospital, senior living, or medication aide experience preferred.
