UTMB Health Correctional Managed Care seeks a part-time Certified Medication Aide to support medication distribution and patient care inside a prison/jail or juvenile facility in Texas. The role involves assisting nursing staff, maintaining safe patient environments, and documenting medication administration in pharmacy systems.
Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and an active Texas CMA permit. The position is limited to a maximum of 19 hours per week and is non-benefit eligible.
The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.
Performs technical duties in the field of patient care and participates in the general health care of patients by providing assistance with cleanliness, grooming, rest, activity, nourishment, and distribution of medications. Assists the professional staff in maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.
Standard patient care supplies, equipment and mechanical devices.
Work environment is located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
The is a non-benefit eligible, hourly paid position limited to a maximum of 19 hours per week.
