UTMB Health is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to support correctional healthcare programs, assisting with patient care, medication distribution, and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment within a prison setting.
You will collect vital signs, aid with activities of daily living, ensure drug room security, document medications, and participate in ongoing education to meet ACA standards; requires a High School diploma or GED and a Texas CMA permit.
The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.
Performs technical duties in the field of patient care and participates in the general health care of patients by providing assistance with cleanliness, grooming, rest, activity, nourishment, and distribution of medications. Assists the professional staff in maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.
Standard patient care supplies, equipment and mechanical devices.
Work environment is located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center. Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
Non-benefit eligible, hourly paid position limited to a maximum of 19 hours per week.
