Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a Certified Medication Aide at Crestview Court in Cedar Hill, TX. The role administers oral and topical medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

State CNA certification and a valid medication administration certification are mandatory. You will perform daily tasks to support residents' health, comfort, and wellbeing within a compassionate care environment.

Qualifications

• State certification as a Nursing Assistant mandatory.
• State approved medication administration certification (where required).
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• May take and record vital signs of residents as assigned or as required by certain medications.
• Records the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately.
• Observes for and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse or the appropriate shift.
• Documents reason for and response to PRN medications in a timely manner.
• May dispense narcotics and must account for them under the supervision of the licensed nurse per policy.
• Ensures medication room and carts are kept clean and organized.
