Responsibilities
  • Verify the identity of the resident receiving medication and record the name of the drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
  • Present medication to resident and observe ingestion or other application, or administer medication using specified procedures.
  • Take vital signs—or observe residents—to detect response to specified types of medications and prepare a report or notify designated personnel of unexpected reactions.
  • Take and record temperatures, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output as directed.
  • Answer signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine resident needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
