Salary Range: $21‑$26 per Hour
Certified Medication Aide (CMA)
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Provide medication administration to residents under direction of RN.
- Assist with personal hygiene, including bedpans, urinals, baths, back rubs, shampoos, and shaves, and help with travel to the bathroom, showers, and baths.
- Assist with activities of daily living such as feeding patients, serving meals, ambulating, turning, positioning, and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Administer adjunct care: enemas, douches, non‑sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz baths, and therapeutic baths; apply restraints.
- Maintain patient stability by checking vital signs and weight, testing urine, and recording intake and output information.
- Provide patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials, transporting patients, answering call lights and requests, and reporting observations to nursing supervisor.
- Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures.
- Serve and protect the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCHAO standards.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensure.
- Enhance nursing department and hospital reputation by taking ownership of new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
Position Requirements
- Proper licensing in the state of the job.
- Experience administering oral, topical, optical, ophthalmic medications and subcutaneous injections.
- Previous CMA experience and certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Multi‑tasker, able to proceed in a courteous and professional manner.
